Cant monitor zabbix itself

I am trying to monitor zabbix itself but im getting

Get value from agent failed: cannot connect to [[127.0.0.1]:10050]: [111] Connection refused

Does this mean i need to install the agent on the zabbix server itself? Or is something else missing?

Yes, you need to install and start zabbix_agentd
