    History tables are growing amazingly

    Hello,

    Zabbix version : 2.2.1
    Zabbix housekeeper tasks seem inoperative.

    From zabbix_server.log
    19431:20131213:160752.308 server #16 started [housekeeper #1]
    19431:20131213:160752.308 executing housekeeper
    19431:20131213:160752.415 housekeeper [deleted 0 hist/trends, 0 items, 0 events, 0 sessions, 0 alarms, 0 audit items in 0.100803 sec, idle 1 hour(s)]
It's the same for all housekeeper tasks

List of history tables (innodb format)
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 8654 24 sept. 11:49 history.frm
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 8654 24 sept. 12:01 history_str.frm
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 8834 24 sept. 12:01 history_log.frm
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 8654 24 sept. 12:01 history_uint.frm
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 8680 24 sept. 12:01 history_text.frm

    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 8714 12 nov. 14:27 history_sync.frm
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 8714 12 nov. 14:27 history_str_sync.frm
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 131072 12 nov. 14:30 history_sync.ibd
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 131072 12 nov. 14:30 history_uint_sync.ibd
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 131072 12 nov. 14:30 history_str_sync.ibd
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 31457280 3 déc. 23:51 history_log.ibd
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 578813952 16 déc. 10:50 history_str.ibd
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 14734589952 16 déc. 10:51 history.ibd
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 43048239104 16 déc. 10:51 history_uint.ibd

*sync* tables haven't changed since the date of 2.2.0 upgrade
    Which tables are useless ?
Is it possible to clean or reinitialize history tables without breaking zabbix database ?

    Thanks for help

Housekeeping changed in version 2.2. In the web GUI, go to Administration > General and change the dropdown menu to "Housekeeping". Make sure the boxes for every table you want housekeeping to run on are checked.
