Simple Check ICMP configured,but no check results

Hello, im new to using Zabbix, i come from the nagios camp.

i added a few hosts using the bulkloader, like so::

HOST,NewNet,192.168.30.2,,Monitored,wireless,192.1 68.20.251,RizkWireless

then created an item with the following attributes ::
Description :: bla bla
Type:: Simple Check
Key:: icmpping
Type of information:: Numeric (float)
Units::
Use multiplier:: do not use
Update interval (in sec): 30
Keep history (in days): 90
Status: Monitored
Store value: as is
Applications: none


then i added the item to the group RizkWireless
so far everything seems straight forward. i must get results
But nothing happens ??
any hints ?

Fping

do you have fping installed?

- is it on your path?

- is the path to fping defined in your server configuration file?

- is the program setuid root?

- can the zabbix user run fping?

fping was installed
chmod u+s /usr/sbin/fping

i must file a bug report to ebuild maintainers.
