I am monitoring 50 routers. Last week I noticed that two of my routers no longer had counters related to icmpping and icmppingsec (the 48 other routers still work), however SNMP counters were still working. The counters show up in 'latest data' with a '-' in 'last value' and 'change'.
Troubleshooting:
- fping the IP addresses from the console logged in as the Zabbix user, both routers respond with 'alive'
- stopped and started the server, which didn't help
- created a new router using the same template with a different IP address, works!
- delete the hosts and groups and recreated them, still no icmpping(sec)
- delete the hosts and groups and recreated them using different names same IP address, still no icmpping(sec)
Given the steps I did it seems logical that it has something to do with the IP addresses, however no glue where to look.
I am using Zabbix 1.1, anybody???
