HI,

Im trying to setup a monitoring environment for blackboard via zabbix. I was following the below url for that.

But now Im stuck with the 4th step.

Install Extended Monitoring B2 (bb-extended-monitoring-x.x.war) that's included in the downloaded template suite under installation/b2 directory.

I have downloaded the template suite and I found the .war file. But how can I install that and where should I install that

Any please guide me.

Blackboard, Zabbix setup

Hi there,

So glad I was not the only one. I setup Zabbix for Blackboard last year and it took me a while to get it right. It is still not 100% right but I will get there.

In answer to your question:

The bb-extended-monitoring-x.x.war is actually a building block. To install just login as admin in the website
Go to System Admin -> Building Blocks -> Installed Tools
Click on Upload Building Blocks
Select the .war file from your desktop machine and upload
This will start the building block but you must open the JMX to be able to read it. The one thing I am still not getting right is collecting the ActiveMQ data.

I also had a problem with the Java Gateway on my Zabbix server to read the JMX but after installing a new Zabbix 2.0.5 server with the Java gateway that problem was solved.
