Network interfaces application not working

Dears,

I have installed Zabbix v 2.2.1 on 1st Jan and it's a very good tool!
I have installed the Zabbix agent on most of our servers that we want to monitor. But lately I have installed Zabbix agent over Ubuntu server, the agent is up and running Ok with Linux OS template, but I can't see the Network interfaces application at all.

I have installed Zabbix agent on the ubuntu server this way:
1-wget http://repo.zabbix.com/zabbix/2.0/ub...recise_all.deb
2-sudo pkg -i zabbix-release_2.0-1precise_all.deb
3-sudo apt-get update
4-sudo apt-get install zabbix-agent
5- Added the server IP in the conf file.
6- didn't add any extra packages

Shall it be a permissions issue?

Hi akamel

I am new to Zabbix - but have the exact same problem. I do not want to hijack your thread but will ask 2 short questions:
- how long have you waited since installing the agent and checking the server
e.g. I find I have to wait an hour for the number of items to go from 63 to ~72. And usually network interface is one of the last ones added
- if you do ifconfig on the server do you get a response, or do you have to do sudo ifconfig

Non riesco ad installare l'agent

Salve a tutti non riesco ad installare l'agent di zabbix su Windows 7 Pro e mi dice che non riesce a raggiungere l'indirizzo IP (assodando che lo pingo e ci entro anche da remoto) .
Potrebbe essere il software Macfee ??

Claudio, post in English please, or try the Italian section of the forum if you can't use English.

Concerning the original post, it depends of the frequency of the check for each item. Go check your template, and you'll see that some items are checked only once an hour, which explains the delay you have. (edit : my bad, just saw it was from 2014.. nevermind)
