Escalations and Dependent triggers

I have detected a problem, and perhaps it is a misconfiguration on my side, but here is the scenario I experienced today.

I have a few ICMP checks that are dependent on the site's router being online. All of them were down so I only saw the top level(router) on the trigger status page. I acknowledged this trigger, but my escalations still fired off for the lower level triggers.

Is there a way for acknowledgments to propagate downwards to the dependent triggers under a top level trigger?

Thanks, I've subscribed to that bug and left a comment. Hopefully they'll add some logic for this.
