    Zabbix Server is running = No

    Hi everyone,

    I know there are lots of posts and websites related to this problem but I still couldn't solve it. I successfully install the zabbix on Centos 7 but it gives error that the zabbix server is not running. I am not expert on Zabbix/Linux and in last 3 days I think I have some knowledge of them.

    My doings and the error screenshot are attached.

    Also,there are some weird things that I couldn’t find a solution;
    1. In zabbix_server.log file, the error says that no password has been used even if I entered a password to the database. (maybe it’s because no access to mysql data)
    2. Finally, Even it says the 10050 & 10051 ports are already added to the firewall, when I check the ports’ status, I cannot see 10051 port as listened and opened.

    Thanks for your help

    If you don't have a living database, the zabbix server won't get to a usable state even if it's technically "started". You are probably getting repeating db errors in the zabbix server log.

      Hi LenR,
      Thank you for your response. Sorry that I do not have enough knowledge on Zabbix but can you explain your statement as saying "a living database". I have a db in mysql which is running with a user and with enough rights. I just only install the Zabbix Server with no external hosts. You meant that I have to add external hosts and see what happens? If so, I will do it at this weekend but for me this error implies another problem. Simply it says the server is not up and I dunno why. Finally, some friend told me that I can get errors at CentOS and try Ubuntu. Is there anyone to support that statement? God, this will be 3rd CentOS & Zabbix installation in 5 days and its beginning to get me crazy.
      Regards,
      Melih

        Have you enabled SELinux?
        If you enable it, you need to add policy settings.

        Please be sure to check the cause of the Zabbix server log that can not be started.
