Map labels are incorrect

When adding a new icon to a map, the icon ignores the label and prints the hostname instead. On a cluttered map, this makes the labels almost impossible to read...
For example, I created a new icon of type "Host". I set the label as "Net03". The hostname is: "network003firewall.barnard-inc.com" What prints on the map is "network003firewall.barnard-inc.com"
How can I get "Net03" to print instead?

Have you selected "Label" as "Icon label type" in Map Properties?
After changing the Label of the icon with Constructor, have you saved the changes using the Update button after pressing the Apply button?

I had not checked "Advanced Labels", so I did not see the different label types. Your post led me to it, so thanks!
