ZABBIX has stopped sending emails

Dears,

I've been using ZABBIX for few months, but suddenly it stopped sending emails.
I'm sending emails using Media Type "Email" [SMTP server
==localhost]
By mistake a lot of emails have been sent, so I believe that this is the reason of the failure.
Please note that I've been using also "aspmx.l.google.com" SMTP server, but My IP has been blocked by google for the same mistake .

Please help me to solve this ASAP, as this is effecting my business!

i had the same problem months ago, if zabbix is accidently sending tons of mails, it can happen that the escalator process is hanging up.

i experienced this in version 2.0.x but not in 2.2.x.

you need to delete all entries in the "escalations" & "alerts" table in the database.

after this you should restart zabbix server.
