[Zabbix 2.2]: VMware monitoring - gaps on graphs

    Hi all,

I've upgrade my Zabbix server from 2.0.6 to 2.2.1.
I've imported templates to monitor VMWare.
Host groups have been created as well as all my VMs and hypervisors discovered.

The problem is that I see huge gaps on my screens. Actually there are almost only gaps and only some data. Example of such screen in attachment.

Have you met with such behaviour? Any ideas?

    Zabbix Server version:
    # zabbix_server -V
    Zabbix server v2.2.1 (revision 40808) (09 December 2013)
    Compilation time: Dec 10 2013 20:30:58

    OS:
    # cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.6 (Tikanga)

    Guys,

Has nobody had such issue so far? VMWare monitorring works in your installations correctly?

Any clues, suggestions what I should check?

    BR

      Hi,

I'm monitoring VMware infrastructure through VCenter server using local vmware account. I had similar issue with VMware ESXi 5.5 monitoring using Zabbix 2.2.1. The gaps started to appear randomly, but not so much and so long as for you.
To resolve this check "Zabbix vmware cache, % free" item. Maybe there's no available space for caching. I've increased value in zabbix_server.conf and that solved gaps issue.

        Solution:

If you create a “PseudoHost” for each of the ESXi hosts, link the Template Virt VMware and Template Virt VMware Hypervisor templates to all the PseudoHosts (instead of pointing at the VCenter itself as documentation says). It works properly. The Discovery PseudoHosts still mostly fail, but the automagically created by LLD rule hosts work as expected.

check zabbix queue in gui, zabbix server logs, zabbix server performance items in gui
