Hi, When I try to install zabbix agent 4.0.0 i386 on Windows Server Std R2 x32 - i receive a message from the system - "zabbix_agentd.exe is not an application Win32". I try to install zabbix agent 4.0.0 i386 SSL and receive similar message from the system. Please check installation packet of zabbix agent for x32 windows system. Thanks

Please tell me the specific version of Windows Server.
Is R2 and x32 meaning Windows Server 2003 R2?
Also, please tell me how you obtained the agent file and placed it on Windows Server.
If the 32-bit version of zabbix_agentd.exe is not recognized as a Win32 application, it is highly likely that the file is corrupted.Comment

System is Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Std R2 x32 (3790.srv03_sp2_rtm.070216-1710) and for example another server Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Std R2 x32 (3790.srv03_sp2_qfe.150316-2035).

Yes, after agent error, I try to start zabbix_agentd.exe without any options (parameters) - like this C:\zabbix\zabbix_agentd.exe in cmd.exe and in Windows Explorer too, but - "zabbix_agentd.exe is not an application Win32".
PS It is official and licensed Windows 2003 R2 Std x32 (ru), before zabbix agent 4.0.0 was installed on this server, zabbix agent 3.2 x32 has worked without error for about one year.
PPS zabbix agent 3.2 x32 was uninstall like this 1. zabbix_agentd.exe --config <path> --stop, 2. zabbix_agentd.exe --config <path> --uninstallLast edited by boogor; 20-10-2018, 18:02.

I tried checking on Windows XP with the close subsystem version with Windows Server 2003 R2.
It can be executed if 3.2.7 and 3.4.6 can be downloaded from the Zabbix site, exe in zabbix_agents-4.0.0-win-i386.zip can not be started, an error will result.

If it is exe in the source of Zabbix 4.0.0(zabbix-4.0.0.tar.gz), it can be started on XP.

I checked the contents of exe using ExifTool.
The exe which can not be started has the subsystem version specified as 6.0.
The executable exe was specified as subsystem version 5.0.

Originally it was usual to retrieve the executable file of the agent for Windows from the source tar.gz and use it.
I do not think that's the wrong way.
The precompiled agents that can be downloaded from the download page has not been updated much.
For example, an agent for Windows version 3.0 can only download up to 3.0.10.
You can use version 3.0.22 if you extract from the source tar.gz.

We have solved the issues with 4.0 binary files not working on Windows XP/Server 2003. I have added zip files with compiled agents (v4.0.1) in https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-3047.
