Cant upgrade from 3.0 to 4.0

    Hi

I've just installed Zabbix for the 1st time on a Ubuntu 18 server.

As I was fumbling around figuring out the install, I installed 3.0 instead of 4.0

I've been trying to upgrade to 4.0 using the instructions here, but it doesnt work.

After getting the files and unpackaging, running this command just tells me that everything is already at the highest verison.

    # apt-get install --only-upgrade zabbix-server-mysql zabbix-frontend-php zabbix-agent

So I'm a bit stuck on what to do next.

Hello and welcome to Zabbix forums!

Since you did a clean install would you consider removing it completely and installing from scratch? There would not be such high loss of monitoring and configuration data.

I am suggesting this because during upgrade you will not have the latest 4.0 related updates in the pre-configured data as templates, dashboards, config files etc. Just make sure you drop the database of 3.0 properly before that.
