    Acknowledge working?

I am using zabbix 1.1 and I can't seem to find the purpose for the acknowledge functionality on triggers. I would have thought it would stop actions that are set to repeat but it does not. What is the point of this functionality? How does it differ, functionally speaking, from a comment?

In my mind, the acknowledge functionality should stop repeat actions at least for the user that acknowledges it or more ideally for all users receving action notifications for that trigger. Is this functionality planned?

You are right. Currently ZABBIX does not stop sending repeated notifications in case if the event is acknowledged. We wanted to fix it in 1.1.2, unfortunately good fix requires DB patch and it is not very good idea to introduce patches in 1.1.x.

It will be implemented in 1.4.

      Acknowledge from remote

Will the acknowledge function allow, for example, a two-way pager or other email system to reply to the Zabbix server and acknowledge a specific trigger? That would make the on call guys very happy...
