    Differences between {ITEM.VALUE} and {ITEM.LASTVALUE}

    What is the main difference in behaviour between {ITEM.VALUE} macro and {ITEM.LASTVALUE}?

    I did some test. Create test trigger and sent to it some data. {ITEM.VALUE} and {ITEM.LASTVALUE} was the same on dashboard page at time when trigger fired, what is fine. Also they values both changed when trigger became "OK". On the page "problems" on the trigger which recently became "OK" values was changed when new item values come to my test item.

    So for what 2 different macros are in the Zabbix while their behaviour are the same? Or which tests should outline their differences? Thank you.

    Look for

    {ITEM.VALUE<1-9>}
    {ITEM.LASTVALUE<1-9>}

    sections here. These could be helpful too:

      Thank for answer,

      I see the workaround was implemented in 4.0.3 but didn't find how i can get LASTVALUE updated, not only value when problem was appeared on the dashboard on the "Problems" widget and on the "Problems" page?

        The only thing I can suggest is voting here: https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-4942

                This is a show stopper for me and I'm afraid this means I need to downgrade to 3.4 and will never be able to benefit from other enhancements.
                I'm using Zabbix for almost 15 years.
                Now I need to find out how I'm going to downgrade.
                I don't care about historical data, so I can probably get away with exporting all templates and hosts on a virgin setup.

                I'm afraid I can't downgrade it with the same database....

                  Direct exporting from 4.0 and importing in an older version would likely not work, the XML format usually changes a bit (new fields etc).
