Zabbix Server is not running 2.2 Debian Wheezy

Hi,

I'm fairly new to zabbix and, Linux of that matter. I have got Debian installed with Lamp stack, and updated properly. I also installed various packages i will need for apache2, php5 etc. I have installed Zabbix 2.2.3 from dkpg's from repo.zabbix.com/debian/debian_release...debian_all.deb, and I'm getting "Zabbix server in not running: The information displayed my not be current". Now i have done my research, and I believe the Database password/accessing my database might be my issue, but I would like a little more input. I have tried looking at log's, but having trouble finding them etc. Also I do not want to turn off SElinux so that is out of the question. Please let me know if you can help me with some troubleshooting advice. Thanks in advance!

1) Check /var/log/zabbix/zabbix_server.log
Usually when you start Zabbix, that log-file contain a lot of useful information. Also, if Zabbix cannot access to DB - you will have that message in log-file

2) Check process list. When you install zabbix, it doesn't mean that you "started" it and "added to startup list". You have to do some additional steps manually (tuning /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf; configuring DB access; creating Zabbix DB and Tables; starting DB and Zabbix Server and Zabbix Agent; etc)


Sorry if my explanation sounds "child-ish", but nobody perfect and everyone can make a small mistake.

NO worries sometimes we all need a second opinion cause we forgot something small. On an up note I was able to find logs, and I have opened them with nano. I found my Zabbix_Server.conf file has incorrect Host name. Fixed Issue!!
Thanks for help with log file, I just could not find it.
