    Unwanted Recovery Messages being sent

I've had this setting configured for informational severity for quite some time and it has worked correctly by not sending me a recovery message, but now the system is sending recovery messages.

I can't seem to locate why they're being generated. I have made some changes to actions yesterday when this started, but the changes were for remote commands, not notifications.

I've double checked all my actions - there is only 1 for this severity and it is clearly unchecked for recovery messages, yet I continue to receive them.

I have tried checking it, saving it, and unchecking it again to see if that would resolve the problem, but it did not.

Is anyone else having this problem? Where else can I look to resolve this issue? Which log file should I investigate and do I need to turn up the debugging level 1st?

    Thank you kindly.

    ahahum,

We have the same here... checked and rechecked every action, including disable all but one. With debug levels enabled, still no luck.

Our last step is try to to 2.2.3. Which version do you have?

We're on 2.2.3 and have been for about 2 weeks, although the problem didn't begin then, it only began yesterday.

I'm still banging my head on this one - did you find any fixes?

Is maintenance involved around the time of the recovery?

We use maintenance, but these notifications are happening despite maintenance periods being active or not.

For this severity (Informational) I don't disable the emails so there is no constraint in the action configuration for maintenance status.

In Configuration -> Actions check if your action conditions have Trigger value = PROBLEM.

It disables messages when the trigger goes back to OK state.

Ingus - that worked, thank you!

I didn't realize that was a requirement for this to work properly.

                  So glad this helped you!

However this is not really a requirement for notifications to work properly. This is a way to either enable or disable messages when triggers turn to OK state. There are plenty of users who need the emails on OK states as well.

                  Best Regards,
                  Ingus
