Mail actions failing with "Media type disabled"

Since yesterday my mail actions are failing. If I click on the event timestamp in the Events screen, I see the error "Media type disabled" next to each email address. I go to the Configuration of users screen, select the relevant user, click on Media tab: nothing is disabled.

No errors in Zabbix server log. Restarting the server did not help.

As a result, I am not getting any email notifications for the production environment I am monitoring. Any ideas?

Check the administration tab, media types, there will be a name and status there matching the user's media.

Thanks! The mail media type was indeed disabled there. I certainly didn't disable it myself. I'm guessing at some point the mail relay was not accepting mails, and Zabbix disabled the mail media type. Is that a good guess? I did a "grep -i mail zabbix_server.log" and "grep -i media zabbix_server.log" but no hits. Anyway, I enabled the mail media type and actions are able to send mail now.

You could look thru the audit screens, I've found changes I "knew" I didn't make

Good idea. I looked through the audit logs back to May 30th (the mail notifications stopped working yesterday). Nothing for media types until this morning, and that's just me re-enabling the mail media type. Good to know it wasn't a co-worker messing with the Zabbix config behind my back
