Internal housekeeping item not working properly in 2.2?

Recently I upgraded a Zabbix server from 1.8 to 2.2. After re-enabling the housekeeping in the front-end, I was checking the graphs if housekeeper was running again:



The orange line, shows the activity of the housekeeper process. In this graph, it shows activity at 12:50 and 13:50. But only just a little.

Actually, I expected that the housekeeper would be running more extensively (using more time) as there was some backlog to catch-up. However, looking at the graph, it's not doing a lot.

So I checked the logfile on the server:

Looking at this logfile, the housekeeper is starting every hour at around xx:37 and not at the time I see in the graph.

The settings of the item:



I checked:
- if the graph is configured on the correct host (it is)
- if the item settings are correct (they are, according to documentation)
- if the time on the server is configured properly (it is)

However, the housekeeper is running. I see update/delete activity on the mysql database server. Also, the last line in the log shows that the housekeeper was started, but it is still not completed yet (running for 4 hours right now, but nothing shows in the graph).

Is somebody else experiencing the same issue? Does the item for housekeeper activity work on your Zabbix 2.2 server?

Anyone any ideas why there is a mismatch between the times I see in the graph and in the logfile? It also looks like the other processes are not getting monitored properly...

Found out that Zabbix server was getting monitored by a proxy. This was the reason why it was not working. After changing the Use proxy-setting to "no proxy" it immediately started working again.

Despite the changelog documentation, that states:

Starting with Zabbix 2.2.0 the internal checks of hosts monitored by proxies are now processed by the proxies
