How to get the number of problems of hosts?

I'd like to create an item that tells the number of issues associated with each of the hosts. If the host don't have any problem, the value of this item will be 0.
Any ideias?

There is a dashboard widget for Problem hosts, it was a default on my original dashboard when Zabbix loaded. It shows a summary of machines without problems, with problems (with notes on the devices) and a Total of all machines in that host group. From there you click on the alert symbol next to the devices with problems and you can click on the device and you will see how many problems that device has currently with details of the problems.
