    FrontEnd Memory Leak

    Hi All

I would like to check if anyone noticed the behaiviour that Firefox is crashed while left for a while on one of the screens like Dashboard or SlideShow?

I am experiencing problem that my Firefox is constantly crashing while I am leaving it on either Linux or Windows bor running for a while with Zabbix page opened to show on large screen.

I will be happy to know what I can monitor to detect the leak if there is so.

    Regards,
    Areg

I've not seen that in Zabbix 2.0.9
I'm not at work so I can't tell you what version of FF I have there.

What versions of Zabbix and FF are you talking about?

      Hello Areg,

You are experiencing a Firefox memory leak.
This bug has been reported to Zabbix (https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-8166) but after some investigation it has been considered as a Firefox bug (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=974811) and not related to Zabbix. As from the Firefox discussion, it is recommended to use the Firefox nightly build.

      Best Regards,
      Ingus

          Thanks for the links.

Is this related to latest FF too?

              Hi Areg,

I don't know if it is related to the latest FF as well. You can try to test and tell us.

Regarding "RESOLVED INVALID" on last paragraph of Comment 26 here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=974811#c26 they suspect that the problem has been resolved in some other way so the status of overall bug might be misleading.

I think the best thing you could do now is to test this issue with either the latest FF or other browsers since it is not really a leak in Zabbix and may happen as well when running other sites in multiple tabs.

              Best Regards,
              Ingus

                Hi Ingus

I will try on windows machine the latest one.
I cant try it on Fedora box at it is running on ARM CubieTruck box and there is no builds for "armv71".

Thanks for the quick response in any case.
                Regards,
                Areg
