Agent as Service didn't starts on XP sp2, 2000 sp4 and 2003

using precompiled agent for windows downloaded today 15-08-2006
Installed succesfuly, but service don't go up.
Trying on standalone and test modes runs ok and can to monitoring from server.
On xp without SP's runs ok too

error number 1053

any suggest or idea??

Possible Problem

You should check the path to the service. I recently made a mistake where I forgot to add the --config "c:\zabbix\zabbix_agentd.conf" part of it, and the service installed ok but could not start.

Also, I tried installing it on an E: drive but it did not work. I could see the zabbix process but it did not start listening on port 10050. I had to move it to C:, and reinstall the service to get it working. It seems like it is only set up to work on the C: drive.

the other thing you might do is open up the command line, change directories to where your zabbixw32 agent is installed and run the command

zabbixw32 check-config

this will tell you if there are any problems with the formatting of the config file
