    VMware Actions not triggered...

    Hello,

I'm experiencing some weird behavior from the Actions that are supposed to be triggered, but are not for some VMWare-based Simple checks...

I have an Action which only has a single condition: That the device be in a specific host group. All other action conditions are removed.

The Discovered VM is in the said Hostgroup that matches the Action's condition, but each time the trigger appears, it doesn't launch the Action...

If I create a "normal" host in the host group with the same trigger, the action works.

The VM is not in Maintenance, it is "Monitored", but never triggers the action.

Is there some way I can debug the "Action" condition logic to see what might be causing the issue? I have other Discovered VMs which do trigger some different actions, but I'm at a loss to see why my particular Simple action is not getting "triggered"...

    Thanks!

    G.

Ok, well, finally found out what my problem was:

The "User" that I use for Notification Actions didn't automatically get assigned any permissions on the new Hostgroup I had created.

As such, when my trigger happened for that particular host, the Notification User I had created didn't have sufficient permission for my Host's Hostgroup, and thus could not complete the call to the Script I had associated to the Media Type of my Notification user...

It's a bit twisted, I know... But as soon as I rectified my Notification User's permissions, the Actions started working for it...

Unfortunately, these "permissions" conditions/errors do not seem to be logged in the zabbix_server.log file, even if running in Debug...
