zabbix_agentd immediatley quits on SuSE 10.1

The posted file is the original file from the zabbix sources. Just changed the ip address for the server.

suse 10.1

I just installed server and agent on my pc (suse 10.1) for testing/trialling. Can i help ?

I have the following files in /etc/zabbix/
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2386 Aug 16 13:30 zabbix_agentd.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2310 Aug 16 13:11 zabbix_server.conf

i have changed "ListenIP=10.1.1.102" and "Server=10.1.1.102" in the zabbix_agentd.conf.

i have the attached file /etc/init.d/zabbix_agentd to start it (i added the .txt extension so the system would upload it (for some reason we can't upload scripts with no extension )).

i created the user zabbix as the start script starts the agentd as that user.

i had to add a bunch of extra packages to get things working, but they were mainly on the php side of things for the server (./configure surprisingly doesn't flag that you are missing things).

After all testing I couln't get the zabbix agent running. I will try to compile and install the agent from 1.0 and see what happens. Can You send me your version of the zabbix_agentd.conf file?

Compiled the Version 1.0

Tried to compile the Version 1.0. Zabbix Agend works fine (as in version 1.0). Does the Version 1.1 server interoperate with 1.0 agents?
Strange that the version 1.1 does not work. Is there an other diagnostic possibility.

I can provide root ssh access if there is somebody who is able to make a diagnostics about the zabbix_agentd. Please send me a mail to roli8200(at)yahoo.de to get the temporary ssh access.

Sorry all, it was my mistake. I took the config file for zabbix_agent for the agentd instead of the right config file.
