    Alerts via email

I've set up a trigger which works properly and then an action which sends a message based on that trigger.. but i'm not getting any emails?

do i have to configure a mail server for it to be able to send email alerts?

    Hello!
    I have this problem too.
There is no actions at menu monitoring-->actions (sais "no actions found")
but at menu configuratios-->actions they are enabled.

Is this problem with email configuration at media types?

    Thaks

do you need to have anything set up in particular apart from that?

I have not configured a mail server but i can send emails to myself if i type

        HTML Code:
echo "test email" | mail -s "Test subject email" [email protected]
        that works ok.

But i'm still not receiving emails using the default configuration. I'd like to set it up so that the zabbix server sends it's own alerts out. But do i have to
configure a mail server to have it do this? i guess i just need clarification.

I think you do need to configure an email server to be able to send alerts..

            User rights?

I had a similar problem sending alerts. I found that my user did not have rights to receive the particular severity that was triggered. If you go to Configuration -> Users and click on the Actions -> Media it might help you.
