    Problem Acknowledgements and Downgrades.

    Hello!

I'm currently working through a project to migrate our existing Zabbix 3.X installations to a new Zabbix 4.4 installation - And to improve the alerting aspect of the system.

I've identified that Problem Acknowledgements should achieve what I'd like to do.

    This is the scenario:

Our system will send out an SMS to engineers for problems which are "HIGH" or above, in severity - This is troublesome when customer's who have access to their own systems perform reboots/work which causes these to be triggered and then sent to our engineers out of hours.

What I'd like to be able to do, is if one of our clients know their work will cause a trigger, they can log in and acknowledge the problem.

So I have tested this, and it works for half of the process. Where by if a problem is acknowledged, the PROBLEM email/notification is not sent - However, when that problem is resolved, the OK message is still sent.

So I then tried a second test, this time I acknowledged and downgraded that alert from HIGH To Medium - The PROBLEM email was suppressed as expected, but again, still received the OK message - and the content suggested that the trigger was "HIGH".

How come the "Action" system, doesn't take into account the new severity - Or indeed, suppress the OK Message too?

Any advise or guidance would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Matt
