I am facing a strange issue with SNMPv3 discovery, may be I don't understand it correctly when it comes to discovery rule credentials and discovered host credentials. I am using zabbix latest i.e. 4.4.2 btw.
When I rely on the credentials defined inside the configuration => discovery rule, the host is discovered and is added to configuration => hosts by the action I defined, where I also assigned it the anticipated SNMPv3 template, but discovery rule credentials don't seem to be inherited in the host template, so all SNMPv3 agents fail. Unless I define the macros inside the discovered host or under General => Macros, SNMPv3 agents fail. But I don't want to define those SNMPv3 credential Macros under General => Macros, what am I supposed to do in this case?
are there specific macros for SNMPv3 such that discovered host will get the credentials from the discovery rule, plz help. This is a huge problem if there are plenty of hosts as it is not feasible to manually add the credentials macros to each host manually.
