    Newbie Zabbix Install Help

Hi, new to Zabbix (and pretty much linux).. trying to do a Zabbix 4.4 install on a fresh CentOS 7 using MySQL/Apache.
I'm following the instructions on the Download and install Zabbix page and have got to the point where says 'c. Create Initial Database' - the mysql command is 'not found' - would this have been installed with the zabbix installer, where does it get installed and how can I get it working to continue the instructions?
    Thanks for any help

No, it needs to be installed, CentOS prefers MariaDB and should have it in it's default repo list. see https://www.digitalocean.com/communi...db-on-centos-7

The install of mariadb-server should include the client package "mariadb" which will provide the mysql command.

I've installed MariaDB, but now I'm getting ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
I'm trying to install Zabbix under Windows 10 WSL.
Any ideas where I go from here?

Just a guess: maybe unix sockets are not supported/working correctly under WSL.

Workaround would be using TCP connection to port 3306. Make sure in the MariaDB settings that bind_address is specified with 127.0.0.1. Then configure DBHost in zabbix_server.conf to use 127.0.0.1. Hopefully I'm not missing anything. I haven't ever tried running servers under WSL.
