Offline systems are blocking the que

We use zabbix 1.1.1 to monitor a lot of systems. We also monitor all the workstations of our employees to monitor. After workdays there are some employees who shut down their workstation.

When this happens the que gets sort of blocked by these systems. During the night I see that the que grows to about 300 items because zabbix is still checking those offline systems.

Is this a setting of maybe somekind of bug? Before version 1.1.1 we had 1.1 beta2 and that one didn't had this problem.

I've found it. The interval for checking 'dead' hosts was too tight (15 sec). I raised it to 120 secs and there are no probs anymore.
