Zabbix agent error: Message from ipserver is missing header. Message ignored.

HI guys,

I have a problem when I try to monitor my server Centos 8. My zabbix server is 2.2 version

When I try to install zabbix agent on Centos 8, only can install zabbix agent 4, but when I see the zabbix_agent.log in the zabbix server, I see this error: Message from ipserver is missing header. Message ignored.

I think that the problem is the different versions between agent and server.

How can I solved?

The Zabbix agent version must be the same or earlier than the Zabbix server version. If you use Zabbix 4.0 agent, please use Zabbix 4.0 server or later.

I don't understand "installing from source". Do you refer to install from .rpm package that I can download from repository o dor yo refer to download the binaries from zabbix agent 2.2 and compiling in the server?

It refers to downloading source files from Zabbix download site and compiling on the server.

As you can see from the name of the download link above, Zabbix 2.2 is no longer supported.

Finally, the solution was to install it from sources, and this works.
