Around 1k Emails once a week.

Update: Had to tweak the server config and Slow DB performance seems to be main cause of the issue.


Here is my server config:

There are several reasons thinkable.

I'd guess it's caused by database shortcomings. These might be directly related to the database like bad statistics, doing maintenance, bad tuning, ... or indirectly by e.g. deadlocks provoked by Zabbix server.

Which Zabbix version?
Which RDBMS backend?
Does this issue follow a regular schema?

You might also check the raw values of internal items of an affected period as graphs may be distorted since they often make use of the avg() function.
What about the database logs, nothing suspicious?
