    Not all actions are getting triggered, only some. Configs look the same

    Not all actions are getting triggered, even ones cloned from working actions with different destinations

    Zabbix V4.0.18, running on Debian 9.12. I did not set this up but am troubleshooting someone else's installation.

    I have gone through the settings for the actions in question and don't see differences that should be causing the issue. The one that works sends to a user, the one that isn't working sends to a channel. We also have a working alert that sends to a channel for information level alerts.

    I am at a loss as to how to further troubleshoot this. When I look in the history I see the working actions triggered and no mention of the non-working actions

    For the working action:

    Conditions
    A Problem is not suppressed Remove
    B Trigger severity is greater than or equals High Remove
    • Default operation step duration
    • Default subject
    • Default message
      Last value: {ITEM.LASTVALUE1} ({TIME}) zbxtg;itemid:{ITEM.ID1} zbxtg;title:{HOST.NAME} - {TRIGGER.NAME}
    • Pause operations for suppressed problems
    • Operations
      1 Send message to users: redacted (User Name) via telegram Immediately Default
      • Edit
      • Remove
      New
    • At least one operation, recovery operation or update operation must exist.

    For the non-working action:

    Conditions
    A Problem is not suppressed Remove
    B Trigger severity is greater than or equals High Remove
    • Default operation step duration
    • Default subject
    • Default message
      Last value: {ITEM.LASTVALUE1} ({TIME}) zbxtg;itemid:{ITEM.ID1} zbxtg;title:{HOST.NAME} - {TRIGGER.NAME}
    • Pause operations for suppressed problems
    • Operations
      1 Send message to users: redacted channel redacted telegram channel) via telegram Immediately Default
      • Edit
      • Remove
      New
    • At least one operation, recovery operation or update operation must exist.

    Does whatever "redcated channel redacted telegram channel" evaluates to have at least read access to the host, according to the permissions set within Zabbix?

    See the comment about "Operation type: send message" in https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...tion/operation

      The user in question did *not* have access, and the user for the channel that worked *did* have access.

      I will have to wait for an alert to be sure, but I think you pointed out the issue. Thank you, you are a gentleman and a scholar.
