I tried the upgrade of our Zabbix server from 3.0 to 5.0 yesterday and all of the steps went smoothly until time for the database upgrade. Zabbix log shows the following:
20736:20200513:094951.178 current database version (mandatory/optional): 04050003/04050003
20736:20200513:094951.178 required mandatory version: 05000000
20736:20200513:094951.178 starting automatic database upgrade
20736:20200513:094951.179 [Z3005] query failed: [1071] Specified key was too long; max key length is 767 bytes [create index items_1 on items (hostid,key_(1021))]
20736:20200513:094951.179 database upgrade failed
There's a lot online regarding this error, but there's nothing I've tried so far that seems to work.
Server info:
CentOS 7
