    e-mail Setup Issues

I am having this problem from quite a long time. The mails are not triggering to our domain. The e-mails are coming to gmail using SendMail client.

    Server Details:
    a. Ubuntu (Ver :14.04)
    b. Zabbix Server ( Ver : 2.2.7)
    c. Zabbix Agent (Ver :2.2)
    d. Mail Client: SendMail.

Please share your suggestions and thoughts on this issue. This will really help alot.

I can't help you with using send mail as I am using postfix as a local mail server that is a satellite mail server. Then in my zabbix config I just added the 127.0.0.1 address for the mail server and now it sends mail over to my mail server as a authenticated user. This mail is sent out to the internet to what ever email address that is associated with the mail user. I recommend that you do it this way because it works. There is all sorts of tutorials on running postfix as a satellite mail server. If you can't find one that works let me know and i will make one.

      Hi,

      Thanks for your response.

We tried the steps that you suggested with Postfix mail server as satellite mail server.

The mails are not being sent again.

We suspect the Ubuntu distribution ( Ubuntu (Ver :14.04) which is latest one.

Do you have any suggestions on this? what version are you using?

      Regards

        Hello,

Ubuntu is not the reason why you are not receiving emails. That looks like a simple misconfiguration.

A quick search around with a search engine of your choice can give you plenty of manuals and step by step guides how to install and troubleshoot Postfix.

And I think there must be something in this forum as well.

        Best Regards,
