    What do 'Discovery Status = Up' and 'Discovered' do exactly?

    Hi there,

    I've read the documentation on Zabbix 2.4 about Discovery status, but I'm still not quite sure what they do or what they add to an Action.

    I see a lot of actions that have conditions like

    -> Discovery Rule = xxxxx
    (AND)
    -> Received value like xxxxx
    (AND)
    -> Discovery Status = Up
    (OR)
    -> Discovery Status = Discovered

    But why is the Discovery Status important? And when exactly is a discovery status considered 'Up'? The documentation states:

    "Host Up: At least one service of a host is 'up', consecutively."

    But, consecutively to what? Do you also have to specify a Downtime/Uptime for this condition to work?

    Would love to know this.

    Regards
