    Discovery add unnecessary network interfaces

    Hello.
    I want to use SNMP to monitor hosts, discovery found hosts, action add that hosts to group and link to template, but hosts contain not only SNMP monitoring interface, but Zabbix Agent to.
    How can i prevent auto discovery from adding Zabbix Agent interface to hosts?

    Zabbix 2.2.2
    Discovery:
    Checks
    ICMP ping
    SNMPv2 agent ".iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.system.sysDescr.0"
    SNMPv2 agent "Sentry3-MIB::towerModelNumber.1"
    Device uniqueness criteria
    IP address


    Action:
    Conditions
    Label Name Action
    (A) Received value like CW-24V2-L30M
    AND
    (B) Discovery status = Up

    Operations:
    Details Action
    Add to host groups: PDUs
    Link to templates: Template PDU ServerTech CW-24V2-L30M

    Hi,

    To understand this situation please have a look at Zabbix documentation about network discovery here: https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...work_discovery

    In the last paragraph it says: if a host responded both to Zabbix agent and SNMP requests, both types of interfaces will be created.

    In your discovery rule you have two types of checks: ICMP ping and (2x) SNMP. Thus you have SNMP interface created for SNMP checks but ICMP ping responds to agent interface.

    So to solve the initial question you gave remove the ICMP Ping from your discovery and you should then get new hosts with SNMP interfaces only.

    If you still for some reason need Ping to be checked, you can create a separate discovery rule for that.
