    No triger for dead host

    Hi,
I'm monitoring Ruckus ZD 1200 using SNMP , I'm monitoring network interface and also some other services.
I've just noticed that the unit is dead many days ago but zabbix didn't say anything about it. no error on dashboard.
any idea what may be the issue here?

How is this host being monitored? What kind of templates do you use for it? If your device accepts ICMP ping you can use out-of-the box template Template Module ICMP Ping: https://git.zabbix.com/projects/ZBX/...le/00icmp_ping

      Thank you for you reply.
No I can not ping directly the device from the Internet; it's behind a router , I use SNMP
Now I added SNMP Availability (Template Module Generic SNMPv2: SNMP availability) ,and now I get something useful : I get the message ( No SNMP data collection) at least now I know that the device is not online anymore. before with Template Module ICMP Ping I was getting only error about (High ICMP ping response time, High ICMP ping loss, ..) if the device is UP and there is only a delay , but if it's not UP I get nothing.

Question : I have some devices that can response to ICMP ping , but because I'm using ICMP , I see that the ICMP ping also use SNMP. is there any way to make ICMP ping to work directly when the host is monitored using SNMP?

The Template Module ICMP Ping as can be seen here https://git.zabbix.com/projects/ZBX/...le/00icmp_ping does not have SNMP items. The trigger that detects that the host is not available by ICMP is called Unavailable by ICMP ping,

Yes I know that the "Template Module ICMP ping" does not have SNMP items, But when you configure host to be monitored using SNMP , the ICMP ping will use SNMP configured port to send the ICMP ping , otherwise ping will not work because it's not pingable through the Internet. Am I right ?
Because I have some devices that are pingable through the Internet, that why I need to know in this case if we can make ping goes directly using public IP instead of what I see ICMP template using public-IP:161
