    Zabbix installation problem, please help.

I'm installing zabbix2.4 in RHEL7. I've come to the following page, but when
I click "test connection", it always failed.

    zabbix server IP:10.169.236.249

The hostname is localhost.localdomain, do I need to change it ?

It seems like my network connection's problem, but I can't find out.

I have setup single server instances of zabbix before, pretty sure I always just use local host to connect. (only on RHEL6 though not RHEL7)

One thing to note though, your zabbix server config file and the web page you are showing have two different users listed there. if you haven't, might be worth double checking that you can connect to the db as the zabbix user using mysql locally.

In your config file you listed this:
        DBUser=zabbix

But in your picture you are using "root" as your user name. Did you try putting zabbix in that field?

          coreychristian and Parasin,

thank you for your reply. Actually I used the user "zabbix" not "root", I just
uploaded the wrong picture, I've corrected it.

And when I tested it with the GUI Firefox Browser of the Zabbix Server, it also
          failed as below.

but I can connect to my database under command line.

          [root@localhost zabbix-2.4.3]# mysql -uzabbix -p123456

I assume the user has access to the zabbix db. Otherwise I would check SELinux, if it's not that I haven't run into anything similar before.

If SELinux is installed it might be worth disabling it just to check.

            setenforce 0

            setenforce 1 (to re-enable)

I had set SElinux=disabled before I installed Zabbix.
Now I've reinstalled Zabbix twice, but they all failed at this step.

with the error logs of Apache, i don't know if it's because of Apache and PHP.
I think I've installed all packages of them, really don't know why.
