zabbix - Proxy monitoring

Hi All

Wondering what the best way to configure monitoring of a Proxy is. At the moment, the proxy is set to be monitored by itself, but when the link to the proxy goes down, i don't see any alerts come up.

Should the proxy be monitored by the "primary" zabbix server so that it can mark it as offline should a proxy go down?
