    Log monitor month name instead of number

    I have been searching google and the forums for ideas on how to overcome this. Trying to monitor my DNS queries log from BIND. The file reads fine. However the timestamp looks for month as 01-12 rather than Jan-Dec as reported by BIND. I looked to see if I could modify the BiND logging, have not had much luck there either... From what I am reading it seems this is a minor thing and should not be worried about...

    Would be nice for an enhancement to allow capturing the accurate timestamp...

    You should be able to configure BIND to log time in iso866:
    https://bind9.readthedocs.io/en/v9_1...tement-grammar
    Something like:
    Code:
    logging {
            channel default_log {
    [...]
                    print-time iso8601;
    [...]
            }
    }

      Thanks for the information... I am using BIND 9.11 and the only option I have for print-time is boolean... I will keep digging.

    Since we have item value preprocessing you could be converting all the textual month representations to integer. :-)
