Hello everyone,
I have a doubt about the functioning of the Network Discovery mechanism (Discovery Rules + Discovery Actions).
I wrote a rule whose purpose is to check an IP range and add to a specific group the hosts that respond to some checks (Discovery status equals Up and Zabbix agent "system.uname") and eventually send a custom notification message.
What I expect is to receive notifications ONLY for hosts experiencing such conditions (i.e. only for new discovered hosts).
What happens instead is that at each execution (currently once a day) we receive a "Discovery: DOWN" notification for all hosts that used to be on the network but are NOT there anymore.
Is there something we are missing, and is there a way to disable this behavior? Or is it simply wanted?
Zabbix version 5.0.
