    ICMP Check on Vmware Vms

    Hi,
I am trying to find a trigger that can email me whenever a VM is not pingable from Zabbix Server. Can I do it using the VMware VM Template?
I have tried to create an ICMP simple check item in the "Template VM VMWare Guest". However, the interfaces of all the VMs are shown as the VCenter's IP address instead of the VM's real IP address. So it always returns 1 (Up) when pinged, since the VCenter is always up.
If the ICMP check is not the right tool, what would be the best?
    Thank you very much!

My Zabbix has the same problem. The "VMware: Hypervisor is down" trigger is not working properly. Item from "Template VM VMware Hypervisor: VMware: Hypervisor ping" - icmpping[] shows "Up (1)" when the hypervisor is offline. It looks like this item on all the hypervisors that were discovered by the pattern shows the vSphere status, but not the hosts.

    Zabbix 5.0.27 with VMware template.

Hosts discovered by template have a "display name" with the IP address of that host. Can we use this variable for ICMP ping and how?

I used the icmpping[{HOST.NAME},4] key in the item and now it pings the host and show if the host is down
