    trapper items disapear from latest data when no new data was received within 2 days

    I have a few trapper items, containing the last backup state of the host. These items are filled in by zabbix_sender called after the backup-job with the result of the job.
    Some backups happen every day, so no problem there..
    But some backups only occur once in 7 days or so .. And I can only see those items until one day after the value was received. After that, the item disapears from the Latest data view.
    Triggers triggered by those items however still provide a link to the graph of those items and there I see the current state of the item is "no data"
    When I check latest 500 values I see it does keep the values for 90 days as was configured in the items.. And I can correctly see the latest value...

    But why is the current value of those items reset to "no data" instead of keeping their latest received value ?

    Hi,

    Zabbix is displaying this information for 1 day by default. This is a limitation because if performance issues if longer periods of data must be displayed for large amount of hosts.

    However you can change this period.
    • On Zabbix server navigate to folder which contains the files of Zabbix frontend.
    • Open file /include/defines.inc.php
    • Line 39 (usually) defines this period (in seconds)
    • Code:
      define('ZBX_HISTORY_PERIOD', 86400);
    • Set it to somewhat longer period, save the file and see if it helps.

    Best Regards,
    Ingus
