Install zabbix proxy in the same server when run the zabbix server

    Hi,

I tried install proxy v2.29, the same version of zabbix server but it shows me the following error:

    Transaction check error:
file /usr/lib/zabbix/externalscripts from install of zabbix-proxy-2.2.9-1.el7.x86_64 conflicts with file from package zabbix-server-2.2.9-1.el7.x86_64

I don't think you can install proxy and server on the same machine. What would be the purpose? The server can do anything a proxy can do..
Proxies are to be installed on a different machine than the server to release some workload from the server or to monitor subnets or remote locations where you can't or don't want the server to have direct access to .. (proxy has to communicate with the server however.. )

basically it's possible (we already did on SLES11) but as chojin pointed out this is not the scope of zabbix proxy.

I want to monitor only switches, How could monitor multiple switches from the server? I do not want to install the proxy on another server.

Just by adding each switch as a host in zabbix .. ? Not sure if I understand your question..

Can I monitor all switches from the agent? The same agent run in the server?

How are you going to monitor those switches using an agent? An agent is a small program that needs to be run on a host you want to monitor, but I don't think you can install an agent on a switch.
Switches are normally monitored using SNMP which is handled by Zabbix Server itself without agents. An agent is just one way of monitoring a host, as is SNMP, SSH, Telnet, IPMI, etc..

Had understood if he could not, so I wanted to install a proxy.
The same server can monitor all aps without proxy or agent?
How should be the configuration of the host?

Just create a host in zabbix and define an SNMP interface (IP/DNS/port). Then define items of type "SNMPv2 Agent" as clearly described here: https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...itemtypes/snmp
Or find yourself a suitable template on http://zabbix.org or http://share.zabbix.com
