    Configure and Test Actions

    Hi,

    I'm trying to configure "Actions" to send Mail (and SMS in a second step) on trigger, on a production Zabbix server.
    I read some howtos about it that always say the same thing:
    1 - Configure Media
    2 - Add User
    3 - Configure Action with Condition and Operation to send email to user
    I follow all these steps but it does not work. For now I know the trigger is fired but I don't receive any mail. I don't see any try from Zabbix on my smtp server and I don't see anything in the "Action log" or "Notification Report" in Zabbix. So I guess the Action is not started. I tried different "Conditions" in the "Action" but with no more success. So how I could I know where is the problem?

    You can see if Zabbix is sending e-mail from an action by going to Administration --> Audit. Look at the below image.

    - Change the top right dropdown to "Actions"
    - Change zoom level to a period where you know an action should have been triggered (Do this before selecting "Recipient", or recipient may change when selecting zoom level)
    - Change recipient to user who is defined in the action
    - Click the "Filter" Button.

    Any attempted e-mails will show with either a green "Sent" status or a red error status of some type.

      Hi,

      Thanks for your answer.
      I've already tried this and nothing appears on this page. So at least from your answer I know that the trouble comes from the configuration of the Action not from the Email configuration. So is there a way to "debug" Action configuration and see why they are not "fired"?
      I tried different things in the Condition:
      - Trigger value = Problem
      - Host = <...>
      - Host = <...> AND Trigger value = Problem
      - Trigger Name = <...>
      - Trigger Name = <...> AND Host = <...>
      .....
      Nothing seems to happen in any case.

        Or may be is there some parameter that would disable actions globally?

            I think the mail media is configured correctly but as long as it has never been used I cannot be totally sure. Is there a way to test this without using "Actions"?

              Zabbix Appliance 3.0.4 - actions not working nor displaying

              hello we have a similar issue on our 3.0.4 appliance.
              we configured the email media type correctly, server is able to reach the smtp server by IP. we tried both to leave the deafult configuration > action to alert administrators or creating a simple new one with a very basic trigger matching problem value.
              in the monitoring > event we can see the trigger starting but no messaging action is displayed. seems like the actions we configured do not get "processed" in any way. is there something related to processes at host level to check ? in the zabbix_Server.log there is absolutely nothing.
              we are very close to complete the product overall test but this is holding us. we need to have action notification working.

                Zabbix server 3.0.4 not sending email notification

                I have same issue with email nofication.

                i am running Redhat 7

                I configured smtp
                i tested sending email from zabbix server to my email with unix comman line and it worked.

                I configured user / media / using my email

                i configured Action and assign email to be receiving notification from action

                I power off the client machine (registered to Zabbix)
                trigger picked up but i still don't receive any email.

                Please help....almost there
