    centos 7 and zabbix

    After ./configure and make install zabbix_server missing. (./configure --enable-server --enable-agent --with-mysql --enable-ipv6 --with-net-snmp --with-libcurl)
    In picture you see what it installed.

    You should find zabbix_server (and zabbix_agentd) probably in /usr/local/sbin

    zabbix_get and zabbix_sender go to /usr/local/bin

      Thank you

      But I get now this error
      Zabbix server is not running: the information displayed may not be current.
      How to fix this.

      Regards, Nikoh H.

        Do you see processes running with ps -ef|grep zabbix_server ?

        If so, then check to see whether SELinux is set to permissive or enforced with sestatus

        If it is enforced, that is probably causing the issue that you now see. There are various ways of allowing Zabbix to work with SELinux. You will have to decide which way you wish to use. Do a forum search for SELinux and you should find some options.

              I do that all, but I get error Zabbix server is not running.
              But it's running

                Well, actually when I do ps -ef , I'm getting ~100 lines, contain "zabbix_server"
                Code:
                [root@z ~]# ps -ef | grep zabbix_server | wc -l
                105
                If you have only one line - it means, that no any (pollers, trappers, pingers, etc.) sub-processes are working.

                Do you mind to show us /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf?
                Also, cut-and-paste the /var/log/zabbix/zabbix_server.log file - from line
                Starting Zabbix Server. Zabbix 2.4.5 (revision 53282).
                until the end of file.

                    #10
                    Your log-file is full of error messages
                    Code:
                      7054:20150428:222208.721 [Z3001] connection to database 'zabbix' failed: [1045] Access denied for user 'zabbix'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
                      7054:20150428:222208.721 database is down: reconnecting in 10 seconds
                    It means, that you not configured database properly.

                    From the previous link, check the steps (I highlighted the important commands):
                    - Configure the database
                    Code:
                    grant all privileges on zabbix.* to zabbix@localhost identified by 'secretpassword';
                    - Configure Zabbix parameters
                    Code:
                    sudo sed -i 's/^# DBPassword=.*/DBPassword=secretpassword/' /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf
                    Why?
                    From your configuration file, we see:
                    Code:
                    ### Option: DBUser
                    # Database user. Ignored for SQLite.
                    DBUser=zabbix

                    ### Option: DBPassword
                    # Database password. Ignored for SQLite.
                    # DBPassword=
                    You tell to Zabbix server : use 'zabbix' username and 'no password' credential to access to database.
                    But you didn't say to mysql daemon (provide all privileges to zabbix without password):
                    Code:
                    grant all privileges on zabbix.* to zabbix@localhost;
                    Sincerely yours,
                    Aleksey

                      It means, that you not configured database properly.

                      From the previous link, check the steps (I highlighted the important commands):
                      - Configure the database
                      Code:
                      grant all privileges on zabbix.* to zabbix@localhost identified by 'secretpassword';
                      - Configure Zabbix parameters
                      Code:
                      sudo sed -i 's/^# DBPassword=.*/DBPassword=secretpassword/' /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf

                      # DBPassword=

                      I still get same error in web page. And I use mysql database.

                      New log is in the same place. http://blogi.hallikainen.cc/zabbix/zabbix_server.log

                        Your log-file looks correct.
                        Do you mind to check all steps of Installation?
                        May be you skip or miss some small details?

                        Just for experiment I would be use "ready-to-go" Virtual appliance.
                        It's previously configured and easy to learn.
                        Sincerely yours,
                        Aleksey

                              I try to do that with mysql, but it's same error: Zabbix server not running.
                              But it's running: pi 28620 2389 0 12:44 pts/0 00:00:00 grep --color=auto zabbix_server

                              How I can fix this issue? What is wrong?
