zabbix server not starting

Suddenly my zabbix_server wont start, there is nothin log in /var/log/zabbix/zabbix_server.log its just empty.

appliance@zabbix:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/zabbix-server start * Starting Zabbix server zabbix_server

the frontend website is running, but it keeps warning about the server is not running. All i did was shutdown the server, and take a snapshot.

Reboot does not make it run.
the syslog does not contain anyting from zabbix_server

im a little unsure how to aproach error checking when there is no log?

First, look in the Zabbix server config and find out the exact logging settings. Second, find out under which user the server is started and running. Make sure that this user has rights to write to the Fi log. If there is still no log , look in the system logs to search for a mention of the start of Zabbix.
