graphs not importing

i have a strange issue... I am able to import items successfully into zabbix ( I am creating my xml programatically ). However when i go for importing graphs for the items created , they are not visible.
XML import gives "Imported successfully". But when i go to the template , I am not able to see the new graphs.

any pointers would be appreciated.

spoke too soon.. . some tags were wrongly placed in the xml.. everything fine now
