I was able to update Zabbix server with no issue however i am not sure where to begin the update process for my proxies. In short how do i update proxies? Update from 2.2 to 2.4

Actually the same way you did for Zabbix server (when using the same RDBMS platform).
When using SQLite as database backend, then be aware of ZBX-8307.
