    Gaps in SNMP graphs

    Hello,

I've searched through the forum, but none of the threads I found seems to have the same problem as me (IMHO), so, here is a new thread about gaps in graphs...

This is the same host, almost at the same time, the only difference is the "Zoom" level

So, why are there some gaps at some zoom levels, but not others ?

This happened while the host is getting "more" traffic, but we're very (very) far from the limits of the host (supports 50x10 Gb, only 10 of them are active right now).

2nd example, for the same host, same time, but another item (I'm limited in the number of attached files...) :

The sample interval may have changed (a typical cause of a bunch of disconnected dots)

The graph may span across the boundary between history and trends, if the history and trends intervals are different (zabbix (or the graphing library) seems to have trouble when this is the case).

Data may be missing (look in latest data and see if any expected times are missing), also look in the log.

If its because data is missing, and the device is slow to respond, you may need to increase the timeout in the zabbix config file; note that this will have an impact on how many pollers you may need though.
